I am new to Duck Hunting in Colorado. Moved here from North Carolina and having a Jon Boat was super helpful getting to the ducks. Are there alot of places in CO that I could use my boat to get at the ducks? Any spot suggestions would be nice. Thanks guys _________________ Even though I haven't been hunting since i was young I am starting something that i can pass down, and I have been wanting to do for a long time |

I use my 12'er out here more then I did when I lived in MI and hunted the marshes of the great lakes. Having a boat is better then NOT having a boat! _________________ Farian |

| And I am opposite, I used my jonny a ton in IA and sold it before I moved out here due to not knowing many places to use it. I wish I would have kept it however as there are certain instances I wish I had it. |

I wish I had done a little more research before I bought mine.
There are only a handful of places you can use them during waterfowl season and those are reservation only. There are some in the mountains that aren't reservation but you can't have your dog in the water or wade in it.
Most places you have to be 150yds off the shore to hunt and have strict desinated areas to hunt in.
If your boat is big enough I guess you could hunt the Colorado River.
Honestly, IMO, I wouldn't go through the hastle.

We hunt from a Jon boat frequently, however we have access to a few private lakes to put the boat in. If you have it, and it would not be a huge inconvenience to bring with you, then my recommendation is to bring it on out! We fish from it in the summer and hunt from it in the fall, or till the water freezes over.

I think Cali may take that title. But I do agree some of the rules are stupid. _________________ My drinking crew has a snow goose problem. |
