    Sad day today.
I woke up this morning to find Sage has passed sometime during the early morning. It seems old age finally got the best of her. Her health had been failing over the last year. She went blind about a year ago. The last few weeks I could really see she was struggling. I put her on a diet of hotdogs for the last few weeks as that is all shed eat. I took her up to the farm (which she loved going to!) one last time about two weeks ago.

Many of you knew her, a few had hunted over her. But most will know the pups that are still to this day hardcore hunters all thru out Coloado. Trust me here won't be another like her.
With tear streaming down my face right now.
I'll tell you a quick story. I shot about a 160" whitetail about 8-10 years ago. I made a horrible hit low liver with a bow. We followed and bumped that deer around for a couple days. But never could get within 70 yards of him to anchor I called up Highlander and asked him to come help make a last ditch effort. I always knew about the nose sage had on her ,so I threw her in as well.
We went to that last spot I had seen him. Highlander took one side of the creek with Sage I took the other. Sage was out infront off Marty and about the time a magpie flushed out of the willows. He deer came boiling out right in front of Marty. I can still remember Marty yelling that "MF'R IS HUGE"! HA! We finally got the deer after 48 after the shot. I look at that deer on my wall today and Sage was the reason we found him.
I am gonna miss ya girl. Thanks for the last 14 1/2 years.

That's a great run you had with her Chris - sorry for your loss.

Long may you run Sage, long may you run.

Nothing hurts quite like losing a good dog. Sage was a GOOD one.

Chris, I cannot express how sorry I am to hear this. (My apologies for the lateness as well)

I could not be more proud to have a great grandson of hers comforting me every night.
