A vintage member from the early 80's shared an old CWA map. If you can remember the time when this is what goose hunting in Colorado was all a bought you are a true old timer.

I don't remember that but I can remember going home from that area and seeing Bruce's blinds (filled with skybusters) on the way home. I can also remember High Plains Sportsmans Club members hunting from their pickup trucks in the property west of pit 3 and 4. They would just sit in their trucks and when the geese would fly over, they would get out and start sky blasting!

Mark - you gotta bring back the Mercury Marquis vehicle icons. Fully expect to see them in the updated maps next fall.

Too cool - and crazy the things we take for granted these days.

A few birds over the years have had a bad day when deciding to land next to that pit.

This is really cool. How long has CWA been around? And what was the goose hunting like back then in terms of bird numbers?

I originally joined in 1986. Then, like a dummy, got out for a while and re-joined in 2004, I think. Best club around!!

I would like to Throwback to those days when you had to sit in a blind and actually talk to each other.
Oh give me a zone where there ain't no cell phones and the service is way out of range...
Where the only tweet heard is the song of a bird, and the internet is down all day !

    cheers
