Heard from another hunter up there that said `they were still shooting geese in Alberta`. Because of their mild winter and mild temperatures, the big push out of there hasn't happened. Hopefully the last big blast of cold artic air from Canada will solve the problem. Never pulled the trigger yesterday.

I can confirm that the darks are pretty much absent from Tamarack. Saw a few but not any large numbers. I`m convinced that most of `em have become Walmart and local soccer field residents in the metro area.

Your observations are correct sir. I remember one year maybe 06-07?? It was colder then a witches tittie for a month straight. Ice was two foot thick on any lake around. So cold all that was around was a handfull of big geese on a roost. We were pummeling mallards every day for 3 weeks straight on warm slough you could pee across. They were like gnats.

It wasn`t till the last couple weeks of dark season last year that they came in pretty strong up Sterling way. Made lots of trips up there without much success. bangin
