Over the last several months, Ol Blu has lost most of his hearing and his hips are giving him trouble.... time to retire to the couch.

Finally admitted it.... Gotta start looking into a the next phase.

Looking for Chessy breeders - if anyone has experience or guidance, it would be much appreciated.

The guy for Chessies used to be Butch Goodwin - Northern flight Kennels - I have heard he isn't doing much with dogs these days.

There is a guy out of Montrose - Black Canyon retrievers that I think is running some of Butch's lines in his breeding program.

John Norris used to run Chessies and he had Kenny Trott train his dogs. I'm not sure what John's handle is on here or if he ever comes on here anymore, but Kenny might be able to get you in touch with him for breeder info?

    www.teamchesapeake.com

It's a chessie forum including puppy ads. Not a whole lot of ads, but then you're looking for a chessie. You can message me if you want to talk more. I wound up getting a chessie from a litter down in Florida.

Also check on retriever training forum (RTF)

You know already , ask what they do with their dogs.

There are chesapeakes and Chesapeake breeders in Colorado
you can meet them at the conformation shows. Have not seen
them at hunt tests this summer.

Learn the health checks for chesapeakes , like degenerative myelopathy
    (DM) and it's rating system.

There was one Chesapeake in UKC Finished tests this summer
and AKC Senior tests last summer , but hard for him to find a
    girlfriend so no help there

I have had two peaks out of Butch Goodwins kennel. Awesome dogs. Black canyon dogs are from Butchs' lines. My current peak is from 40 Acres in Kansas who also has some of Butchs lines. Great dog as well.
